Somasundar Arumugam
Curriculum Vitae
I am Somasundar Arumugam from India. I am a graduate of Biomedical sciences with a specialization in neuroscience from the Leiden University, Netherlands. I developed an enthusiasm for doing research in neuroscience during my undergrad program at SRM institute of sciences and technology, India. My master thesis on studying the neural circuits in Drosophila larva at Paris Saclay institute of neurosciences further motivated me to pursue research in the field of entomology and neuroscience. Currently, I am a doctoral student at the Max Planck Centre next Generation Insect Chemical Ecology (nGICE) under the supervision of Dr Silke Sachse (MPI). My co-supervisors are Dr. Markus Knaden (MPI), Dr. Sharon Hill (SLU), Dr. Rickard Ignell (SLU) and Dr. Marcus Stensmyr (LU). My Ph.D. thesis will be on studying the adaptive plasticity in specialists and generalists and is titled:
Adaptive plasticity in various Drosophila species comprising generalist and specialist species
